Blue Friday: Clouds, Stars, and Glitter :)

What a lovely Friday!  It is the fist day of my three day weekend, I slept in, the weather is nice, and I'm super excited about this post.

Today, I did cloud nails!  whoo hoo!  With sunshine too!  For these nails I first applied Essie's protein base coat followed by 2 coats of Essie's Borrowed and Blue.  (I mentioned before that my brush for this polish is messed up, but I felt like it was the perfect sky blue.)  Then, I did my best free hand sun with rays and all using Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear in Mellow Yellow.  Then on the other fingers I used Sally Hansen's Insta-Dry in Whirlwind White to make the clouds.  I used the ball end of a push pin to create the clouds.  Finally, I topped it off with a layer of Seche Vite. :)  I think they are super Spring-y and happy. :)

On my right hand I decided to try a Love & Beauty polish over the Blue and Borrowed.  This polish is a clear/blue jelly with blue stars and tiny silver glitter.  I had to use a few coats to get this amount of stars and I kind of had to fish them out, but I still like it. :)

The next group was how I painted my nails last night.  I used two coats of KleanColor's Starry Blue over two coats of OPI's Blue My Mind.

*Exciting News* While I was writing this post, the mail man rang my door bell, and left me a package from amazon.  Guess what is inside?! Nail stuff!  I got dotting tools, dried flowers, and a ton of rhinestones and micro beads. :)  Can't wait to try it all out!  I hope you are having a lovely Friday, and thanks for stopping by!

  1. I may be stealing your cloud look once spring gets here if that's okay :) As for big star/heart/etc glitters, I've given up on painting 'em on and just dab globs on a paper plate then use a toothpick to pick 'em out & place them how I want. It's just easier to cheat. ;) And I have bad luck with accidentally making "holes" in my base color sometimes, which this technique also prevents.
