Sponge Gradients :)

So, I've had a lovely lazy day!  My dad is visiting, and we just sat at the computers all morning before going out for lunch and then napping.  That means that I've had plenty of time for painting my nails!  I used wedge sponges for all three manicures.

First I tried a tropical look inspired by something I saw on Makeup Withdrawal.   For this look I used all Essie polishes:  Peach Daiquiri, Mod Square, Orange, It's obvious!, and A Crewed Interest. :)

Then, I experimented with a blue ombre look. For this mani I used Sally Hansen Insta-Dry in Whirlwind White on all nails.  Then from thumb to pink I used Sinful Colors in Cinderella, China Glaze's Flyin' High, Claire's in True Blue, a blue polish by Black Poppy, and Butter London's Royal Navy.

This last one is suppose to be the same sort of look but with purple, however, I used mood polish on my thumb, and it looks VERY blue.  Oh well.  From thumb to pinky I used Icing Mood Swing in Serene/Stormy, Essie's Play Date, Sally Hansen Diamond Strength in Lilac Chantilly, China Glaze's Coconut Kiss, and Essie's Sexy Divide.  (The last two may be dupes...)

Overall, I'm not to disappointed with the results.  It sure was a lot easier than the water marble experiment. ;)  I'll probably try this again with several bright colors this summer.

Speaking of summer, the pool guy is coming to open our pool tomorrow! I work 14 hrs tomorrow, and I also work Saturday and Sunday, but you better believe I'll be out there by the pool on Monday! Ahhh!  Anyway, thanks for stopping by! If you have any tips on sponging polish, let me know!
