Happy Monday!! Last week was super busy, and I am so happy to have a couple of days off work! I spent the majority of the morning out by the pool scrubbing the steps, and while I was out there I took several pictures of my new manicures. :) Today I have two different bright fun sponge gradient manis to show you.
For both of these I used my Essie protein base coat followed by two coats of Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear in White On. Then for the first mani I used two Orly polishes - Oh Cabana Boy (pink) and La Vida Loca (purple). I applied heavy layers of each color onto the same flat end of a cosmetic wedge (or sponge), and then dabbed it on the nail. After each nail, I would reapply the polish and do the next nail. I did a couple of coats of this, and then I added N.Y.C Extra Shiny Top Coat.
I think I'm going to do this look on my friend's nails this weekend. She said that they would be perfect for the breast cancer walk that we're doing this weekend. :)
On the other hand, I used the same technique as I did on my left hand, but I used two different bright colors. For this look I used two Spoiled nail polishes - I'm so Jaded (green) and Plenty of Fish in the Sea (blue). This reminds me of a mermaid. :) My husband liked these better than the pink and purple ones.
A little note about doing sponge gradients -- it is a good idea to tape your fingers so that you get less polish on them. Clean up with these was very tedious!
