Stained Glass and Rainbows

A few days ago, I received something in the mail that is super exciting! The Stained Glass collection by Laquered Up! OMG.  Rainbow jellies! Ok, I'll calm down now.  This is the first Stained Glass collection. (there is also a Stained Glass II) I had to get it because Rainbows.  These are jelly, or sheer, polishes, and there are four colors - Rose Colored Glasses, Sunbeam, Blue Horizon, and Lavender Lunette.

I decided to try them out over Lush Lacquer's "Salt n' Peppa" to see what they looked like over this type of glitter. I used two coats of the jellies, which I think is perfect, and topped it off with some Seche Vite.  The color is so bold, but you can still see the glitter underneath.

Then, I used a coat of Sunbeam AND a coat of Rose colored glasses on my thumb to make this pretty orange.  I'll have to try Sunbeam and Blue Horizon to make a nice green soon.  :)

I have always loved rainbows, but since having my own Rainbow baby, they're more meaningful to me.

"'Rainbow Babies' is the understanding that the beauty of a rainbow does not negate the ravages of the storm. When a rainbow appears, it doesn't mean the storm never happened or that the family is not still dealing with its aftermath. What it means is that something beautiful and full of light has appeared in the midst of the darkness and clouds. Storm clouds may still hover but the rainbow provides a counterbalance of color, energy and hope."

Today is Pregnancy Loss and Remembrance Day, and I didn't even think about that when I started this post yesterday.  I am grateful for my rainbow baby tonight as I remember an angel.

Next, I did a whole mani in Blue Horizon with KB Shimmer's "Clown Puke" underneath.  It reminds me of the sea!

Those pics made me really realize how much I've neglected my fingers. I put them through a lot at work, and they need some TLC.  Time to start using cuticle oil religiously again!

Anyway, I absolutely love this collection.  I've been wearing it a couple of days now, and my nails have experienced minimal chipping on the ends of a couple of nails.  Even with Seche Vite, I somehow usually have a good bit of chipping by now.  I'm excited to see how many different looks I can do with this collection.  There are a few jellies in my collection, but I don't think I've every used them to their full potential. Now's the time! I'm feeling inspired!  My stamping supplies from Uber Chic (including the Ubermat!!) arrived a few days ago as well, and now I'm just waiting on my order from Konad because I currently only have one stamping polish.  Maybe I can do something fun with this collection and stamping.

Check back soon for some stamped manis!  Thanks for stopping by and follow me on Instagram @glimmerandglitternails!
